Admissions

Now Enrolling

Applications are open to Kindergarten through 4th Grade students for the 2024-2025 school year. Grades will be added each year through 12th grade.

Steps to Admission

It is a privilege to support Christian families in training up young men and women to glorify God and enjoy him forever. The Detroit Christian School is a religious ministry that believes parents have the primary role in their child’s discipleship and education, that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, and that a true education is relational.

We are delighted you have decided to apply for admission to the Detroit Christian School. We will guide you through each step of the process. We look forward to meeting you and your family.

Step 1: Learn More

Read and view the required parent reading. You will be asked about the reading in the application.

Step 2: Gather Materials

For Kindergarten, you will need a completed Kindergarten Readiness Checklist

For grades 1-4, you will need your child’s handwriting sample of Psalm 100:1.

Step 3: Apply

Submit the online application which will include uploading the documents from Step 2. There is no application fee.

Ask your pastor to submit the Pastor Reference Form directly to the school. Your application is not complete until this is received.

As soon as your application is complete (including receipt of the required Pastor’s letter), we will contact you to schedule a family interview and student assessment.

*Note on siblings: If you are filling out an application for a younger sibling of a student that already attends DCS, you will not need to complete a pastoral reference or family interview.

Step 4: Family Interview and Student Assessment

Detroit Christian School exists to partner with parents seeking a Christian classical education for their children and who are discipling their children according to a Biblical worldview. The family interview is an opportunity for friends in Christ to meet and learn more about each other. The student assessment is to gauge your child’s aptitude, learning skills, and teachability.

Step 5: Notification

Families will be notified concerning admission status promptly after completing the admissions process.

Step 6: Deposit and Enrollment

Applicants receiving an offer of admission may secure enrollment by submitting a $250 tuition deposit (non-refundable).

Please see tuition details below.

Notice of Non-Discrimination Policy

Detroit Christian School makes no distinction in its admission policy on the basis of race, color, or national and ethnic origin. In light of our Biblical commitments, our admissions process is aimed at finding and partnering with families that have a lifestyle and belief system that is consistent with the school’s Christian beliefs and mission.
